"Too honest". "Not confident". "Too quiet". These comments have always plagued me in an interview. In my most recent interview I was part of the top two candidates for a position in which I had experience, education and passion. However, I almost didn't get the job - reason? Lack of confidence and didn't know how to articulate my strengths. However, by the time the second interview was scheduled I had attended a counseling session by Rich of Career Focus Consultats on interviewing and saw objectively what the interviewer was hearing during my interviews.

For the final interview I came to the table with specific knowledge of the position and how I could be an asset. I had also practiced answering typical interview questions and was thus confident, positive and articulate. I had never worked so hard for an interview but it was well worth it and I'm happily employed in a position I love.
